I bought the Time Out magazine dated 27th-2nd September (not that we pay for Time Outs anymore) and started finding pinpoints to visit. In my search of upcoming shows and exhibitions over summer, I found out that the Museum of London was celebrating the 90th anniversary of Radio Times – conveniently my pin had no way of missing the full-page advertisement spread when my hammer nailed it! I was really excited to see the iconic covers and the concepts behind them and the range of telecommunications that developed through the years, exhibited through historic broadcasts and television archives.  It was fascinating to see the transition from the 1920’s to our current cutting-edge era. I also loved seeing the cover’s typographic titles and how they have changed through the years but still keeping to its original font style.

I continued around the museum which landed me in the Capital Concerns and Changing London exhibitions which were really absorbing. Capital Concerns was insightful in learning about how thousands of London residents function on a daily basis in the 21st Century. It got me thinking how different communities, nationalities, faiths and people with different spoken languages collaborate together. The statistics showed we are among 7.5 million Londoners and rising which puts into context some political and cultural problems that could be fixed and with what resolution – changing the way we consume?
